HOPE
Over 70% of disease is preventable through good nutrition! “Your genes alone are not responsible for your health. Instead, your health depends principally on the way you influence the expression of your genes throughout the collective experience of your life.” (by Jeffrey Bland in the book Genetic Nutritioneering taken form ProMetabolics by Dr. Santillo)
TIME FOR A CHANGE
“Who can say it is not a minor miracle that garlic can kill cancer cells? That substances in spinach can imprison and paralyze the virus that would otherwise cause cervical cancer? That an obscure compound in asparagus and avocados in test tube experiments stopped the proliferation of the virus responsible for AIDS? The cabbage compounds can help detoxify our bodies of modern-day air pollutants. That compounds, spun out by plants to fight off their own destruction, become angels of mercy inside our bodies to prevent blood clots caused by a fatty diet out of control. That particles freed by digestion from the fibrous structure of plants can tell our liver to cool down and affect the transmission of messages among neurons, influencing our mood, our memories, our alertness. Make no mistake about it: eating is not a trivial event for the billions upon billions of cells that constitute your being. It is a communion with nature that promotes life or death.” By Jean Carper’s book “Food, Your Miracle Medicine” taken from Devoted Bodies by Lynora Bayless.
Modern nutrition speaks of antioxidants, phyto chemicals, enzymes, indoles and carotenoids, these are just some of the nutrients found in plants. Colorful fruits and vegetables provide mighty carotenes that boost immune function; they are powerful antioxidants and essential for quenching free radicals. They are rich in fiber, they bind up and escort out the bad stuff, the chemicals and cancer causing bacteria.
People who eat the most fruits and vegetables have half the cancer rates of those who eat the least; they also slash the chance of heart attacks, stroke, hypertension and a wide range of other disease conditions. Are you going to go “Prevention” or “Treatment”, the choice is ultimately yours and yours alone. It’s never too late to start. Your body has a tremendous capacity to heal and survive.
OUR FOOD CULTURE
According to anthropologists, humanity has been the hunter gatherer society diet – until 150 to 200 years ago. Fruits and vegetables are historically and biologically important; our ancestors ate over 700 varieties.
Then the Industrial Revolution came along and food processing techniques began refining the Western diet stripping the majority of its nutrients. Once this took place the fast food nation took hold in the 1960’s. It has spread to every corner of the nation selling a broad range of foods wherever paying customers can be found. No one anticipated the obsessive way their high-fat and high-sugar foods would be consumed. Rent or read the following for more information.

A COUNTRY OF EXCESS
The American affluent nation is experiencing major disease because we can afford it. Given the resources we are prone to excess, this undermines our health, work too much can lead to not enough sleep, too much junk food means we are skipping the fruits and vegetables, too much time in front of the TV sets up too little exercise. It is the most important (significant) factor in disease. Our nutrition and lifestyle choices are far more responsible for the diseases we experience.
